Course Description

Conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion have skyrocketed in the last two years. These are important conversations to have, but, if you don't fully understand the language, it is challenging to have a meaningful discussion. In this first DEI training session, presenter Bonnie Buol Ruszczyk, Cornell-certified diversity and inclusion presenter and marketing strategist, will share terms, their definitions, and examples from real-life scenarios.

This won't be a textbook definitions session—this will be an interactive discussion, so participation is encouraged. No matter where you are on your DEI journey, all are invited to listen, ask questions, and offer their insights and share their experiences.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss terms related to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Define these terms

  • Give examples of real-life context

Bonnie is the founder and owner of bbr companies where she serves as an outsourced CMO and strategic marketing consultant for professional services firms that want the expertise of someone with decades of knowledge yet don’t need that resource full time. Never one to wear just one hat, she is a Cornell-certified Diversity & Inclusion professional who consults with firms looking to improve their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts to create a better work environment and reach broader audiences. Additionally, she quite literally wrote the book on online marketing for accounting firms, Take Your Marketing Online: Proven Ways to Grow Your Firm in the Digital Age, at the request of the AICPA, and has been recognized as one of AccountingToday’s Top 100 Most Influential People, Volunteer of the Year by the Association for Accounting Marketing and one of CPA Practice Advisor’s Most Powerful Women in Accounting.
