Course Description

This presentation will review costly, yet easily preventable errors found in benefit plan operations (by DOL and IRS investigators and independent auditors) along with practical advice on how to avoid the errors in the first place and the costly consequences of lack of compliance. We will also review what auditors are looking for in a Plan’s annual financial statement audit and how to avoid painful change of scope fees.

The audience will learn:

  • Understand the most common errors that occur in retirement plan operations that independent auditors, DOL and IRS investigators look for during their audits

  • Become aware of the potentially substantial costs associated with correction of these errors and related penalties which can be imposed by regulators

  • Controls you can implement and action items you can do to avoid these errors and the related additional costs

About Our Presenter

Acmlogo
Like you, we're highly skilled professionals who work hard every day to become better at what we do. But we believe success should be measured by more than just the quality of the work we do. We believe success should also be measured by a benefit that's less tangible, but our client's find equally rewarding: peace of mind.

When our clients have peace of mind they can focus on other things. Like spending more time with their families, friends or even working out at the gym more often.

At the end of the day we recognize that success on the job is directly related to a life that is balanced and fulfilling. Creating that balance isn't easy. But it's well worth the effort.
