The War Between Independent Contractors and Employees continues.

The Internal Revenue Service plans to flag employers for audit should they issue both a 1099 and a W-2 to the same identification number. Become familiar with the common law rules used by the IRS to stay compliant, thus avoiding costly penalties due to the misclassification of employees.
